2014 Trumpets; Meat in Due Season

September 2014

Dear Brethren:

A very special greeting to all of the children of God—all those set apart by the Holy
Spirit and the Word of God. Keeping God’s Holy Days sets us apart from this evil world.
God is delighted with all who will come in obedience to His words (His commands) and
worship where He has placed His name.

God wants His called-out ones to be reminded year after year of a coming war and
events that will greatly reduce the population of the earth. The world has never seen the like.
It will be a time of great stress—of great tribulation.

Speak to the sons of Israel saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the
month, you shall have a sabbath, a memorial summons, a holy convocation
(Leviticus 23:24) [Modern King James Version throughout].

The trumpet was used primarily for religious purposes—to call the congregation
together for meetings, to usher in the beginning of the month, and to note solemn days and
festive occasions. In this instance, it is to be used as an alarm to alert the people to the
seriousness of the crisis that is upon them (King James Bible Commentary).

Blow a ram’s horn in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain; let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble. For the day of the LORD comes, for it is near
at hand; a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick
darkness, as the morning spread on the mountains; a great people and a strong
people; there has not been ever the like, nor shall there ever be again, even to
the years of many generations (Joel 2:1–2).

What Has This World, and Especially Israel, Done to Deserve Such Punishment?

Put a trumpet to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of the
LORD, because they have broken My covenant and have sinned against My
law
(Hosea 8:1) [emphasis mine].

And the land is defiled under its people; because they have transgressed the
laws, changed the ordinance, and have broken the everlasting covenant.
Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and they who dwell in it are
deserted; therefore the people of the earth are burned, and few men left (Isaiah
24:5–6).

The whole earth has become as Sodom and Gomorrah, with violence, wickedness and
war. Is there any place on earth where man can enjoy peace and safety? We have tornadoes,
floods, earthquakes, forest fires, homes falling into sinkholes, but man will have his way or
die.

As It Was in the Days of Noah

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God looked upon the earth. And, behold, it was corrupted! For all flesh
had corrupted its way upon the earth (Genesis 6:11–12).

Human nature is just the same as ever; it only gets worse with time. The King of
Kings must return to earth to prevent man from destroying all flesh.

I would like for you to read the opening statements from Mr. Raymond Cole’s
November 1991 and April 1993 Monthly Letters.

November 1991 Monthly Letter:

The prophesied turmoil within the Body of Christ continues unabated—a fact
which has served to destroy some because they somehow have allowed
themselves to believe that within the true body only peace, love, harmony, and
a right spirit will prevail. How contrary to the expressed prognostication of
Jesus Christ Himself. He said:

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be
already kindled? . . . Suppose ye that I am come to give peace
on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division (Luke 12:49, 51).

Why? As has been explained many times, this is a time of refining and
proving, initiated by God. Only those who can and will endure unto the end
will be saved
(Matt. 10:22) [emphasis mine]. The severity of that test is
demonstrated by the fact that the very real source of turmoil will come from
relatives, friends, and even mates. How many of us have the courage and
depth of appreciation, or love, for God’s Truth to resist even the pulls of those
closest to us? Such is a test of ultimate design. Most will orient themselves
according to the demands of physical existence, and then according to the true
nature of flesh, construct a self-justifying concept which will allow the mind
to feel completely exonerated. That is, man never feels he is wrong. For, all
the ways of a man are right in his own eyes. Self-deception is one of man’s
greatest curses. [End of quotation from April 1991 Monthly Letter.]

Unless the Lord of hosts Had left to us a very small remnant, We would have
become like Sodom, We would have been made like Gomorrah (Isaiah 1:9).

April 1993 Monthly Letter:

For those whose minds have been given a spiritual orientation, conditions of
the world today are frightening. It can be fairly accurately and confidently
stated, we are now on the cutting edge of the climactic events of the last days.
For the observant, many prophesied events are occurring with ever-increasing
and severe rapidity. Is there an area of this globe which is not experiencing
many of the difficulties indicated for the closing days of this era of time? We
know of none. Strife, war and bloodshed, racial violence, social decay, mental
aberrations of many human beings, unbelievable diseases and mass epidemics,
governmental rot, and a general “me-first” attitude are rampant. How much
worse can it become in some areas of this world? What has happened in
“far-off” places in times past is destined to happen to our own nations and
peoples, soon.

If Mr. Cole thought we were on the cutting edge back when he penned these letters,
what would he think about world conditions today?

God has reasoned with His people through His prophets and ministers, and only a
small remnant are prophesied to respond and endure to the end.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the LORD has spoken, I have
nursed and brought up sons, and they have rebelled against Me. The ox knows
his owner, and the ass his master’s crib; but Israel does not know; My people
do not understand. Woe, sinful nation, a people heavy with iniquity, a seed of
evildoers, sons who corrupt! They have forsaken the LORD; they have
provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger; they have gone away backward
(Isaiah 1:2–4).

The Remaining Fall Feasts

Next in the order of God’s Holy Days is Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles, and the Last Great Day:

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Also, on the tenth of this seventh
month, this is a day of atonement. It shall be a holy convocation to you. And
you shall afflict your souls and offer a fire offering to the LORD. And you
shall do no work in that same day, for it is a day of atonement, in order to
make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For any soul who is
not humbled in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. And
any soul who does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy
from among his people. You shall do no kind of work. It shall be a statute
forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be to you
a sabbath of rest, and you shall humble your souls. In the ninth of the month
at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your sabbath. And the
LORD spoke to Moses saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, The
fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven
days to the LORD (Leviticus 23:26–34).

The Feast of Tabernacles pictures the dominion of Christ with rejoicing among God’s people—those that come to worship where He has placed His name.

Next in line is the Last Great Day picturing the Great White Throne Judgment.

Seven days you shall offer a fire offering to the LORD. On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you. And you shall offer a fire offering to the LORD.
It is a solemn assembly. And you shall do no work of labor (Leviticus 23:36).

Remember, Jesus took the place of animal sacrifices; they are no longer required. We are required to be where He has placed His name. It is an opportunity to prove our faith. God willing, I will see you there.

With much love in Christ’s name,
